First office
in Birmingham

DRÄXLMAIER started its operations in the UK in 1998, opening offices in Kings Norton, Birmingham. Around 20 employees worked there, comprising of technical designers and engineers.

2000

The start of the
engine harnesses

In 2000, DRÄXLMAIER moved to a new facility in Rubery Birmingham, starting manufacturing and assembling the engine harnesses. The grand opening of the new plant took place in December and was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham.

In the same Year DRÄXLMAIER expanded its UK operations gaining a presence in in Oxford, providing line support and quality assistance to our customers.

2001-2006

Further
development

The year 2001 saw the opening of our Stoneleigh offices near Kenilworth. Our presence in Stoneleigh has grown over the years, as our plant operations have grown also. This resulted in DRÄXLMAIER later moving into Building 500, which is where our colleagues in Stoneleigh are now based.

First ever DRÄXLMAIER system assembly: In 2006 the UK would be the first country within the DRÄXLMAIER Group to support an OEM with Just-in-Time System Assembly. This new service offering would lead the group to expand its support to the premium automotive industry, providing OEMs with bespoke interior, electrical and assembly solutions.

2011-2014

New
Plants

In 2011, DRÄXLMAIER opened its Solihull facility, expanding its operations in the West Midlands. This facility supports the system assembly process for car interiors.

 

In 2014, DRÄXLMAIER opened a new a plant in Tamworth. The new facility was opened to consolidate the existing Rubery plant and support the transfer of several car lines. The warehouse is an assembly and logistics hub for the Midlands operations.

2018

20th anniversary
DRÄXLMAIER UK

In 2018, DRÄXLMAIER UK celebrated its 20 year anniversary. From a small office in Kings Norton, Birmingham, DRÄXLMAIER UK is now present in 3 key sites: Solihull, Tamworth and Stoneleigh. The DRÄXLMAIER Group also celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2018, after being founded by Fritz and Lisa Dräxlmaier in 1958.

2022

Excellent
Performance

In 2022 DRÄXLMAIER receives the Jaguar Land Rover Supplier Excellence Award award and is honored in the highest category as one of only four suppliers. 

DRÄXLMAIER produces parts for Jaguar Land Rover in Solihull, Great Britain – currently for the award-winning Range Rover Velar. The DRÄXLMAIER Group is also involved in the new electric vehicle platform for the Range Rover brand.  “The Supplier Excellence Award is a huge motivation for the whole staff. We’ll continue to be fully committed to our customer’s success,” sais the DRÄXLMAIER Site Manager in Solihull, Brian Adams.
